I have spent way too much time on dating sites, but after sifting through the sand I have found a few pieces of gold. I met a woman in San Francisco who I thought was one of these rare finds. We had plans to meet this month, on her birthday, up in San Francisco. Then she stopped writing, without any clue or warning. I asked one time where she was at as far as we went, which I didn't even get a response to that! Nice. Oh well, I look at it as time saved, and I choose to be grateful. This doesn't mean that it felt all that great, but the only think I control is how I live. I would rather spend time with my dog, thank you very much!
So now I will go back to the river, get out my pan, and start sifting again. I am a little bit more aware, a little bit more leery, a little bit lighter without that heavy piece of pyrite in my pocket.
